• Neolithic Period (3900 B.P. to 1900B.P.), sites located in coastal area in southern tip of Taiwan.
Previous works:
• Studied on settlement pattern from archaeological evidences of artifact assemblages, subsistence systems and the topographies which sites located.
• Studied on intrasite spatial pattern and formation process from the sizes, types, densities, and spatial distributions of artifacts
Current works:
• Social interaction and social boundaries from technical choice approach, mainly on compositional analyses and stylistic analysis of the decorative variations at more detailed levels.
• Protohistoric period (>600<), settlements with slate house structures on mountain area in southern tip of Taiwan.
• Studies on settlement patterns from the maps of house structures and their spatial arrangement
• examining and comparing the similarities and differences of sites’ settlement patterns and house structures to understand the continuities and discontinuities of the culture, and further to sort out the South Paiwan, or even Paiwan culture in the different times and different areas.
• Studying on distributions of imported goods, house sizes and house shapes, and the degree of the constraint of house pattern to argue what the social systems groups practiced.
