演講摘要
Since 2011, archaeological excavations have been developed in Heping Dao B, Keelung, northern Taiwan, uncovering prehistoric remains up to the historic times, remains from the Spanish and Dutch colonial periods, the Qing and Japanese colonial times, and the post WWII history. While the recovered archaeological evidence is exceptional, the methodological aspects also deserve attention. Stratigraphic excavation has been used systematically by the Spanish team since the early beginnings of the project, but the specificities of urban settings and of the Heping Dao sequence prompted methodological experimentation throughout the years. We will discuss the approaches deployed in Heping Dao, and their results so far.
