Announcement of Faculty Position in Archaeology

Assistant / Associate / full Professorship in Archaeology

ELIGIBILITY
REQUIREMENTS
 All applicants should have a Ph.D. in archaeology or a related field by the time of application and be able to teach in Mandarin, with the ability to teach in English being an advantage. Candidates should demonstrate professional research and teaching specializations and regional geographical foci that complement current departmental coverage and directions of development. Candidates should have the ability to teach courses essential to training the next generation of Taiwan undergraduate and graduate students in modern anthropological archaeological approaches: these may include, but are not limited to, courses in general archaeological method and theory or history of the field; archaeological field practices; regional or world comparative archaeology courses; and courses in specialized subfields that complement those already covered in the department curriculum.

DOCUMENT REQUIREMENTS

1) curriculum vitae and a future research plan (both Chinese and English versions required);

2) a photocopy of Ph.D. diploma (authentication by Taiwan’s embassies and missions abroad required for foreign diplomas); or proof of having received a degree issued by their respective institutions;

3) photocopies of major academic diplomas and certificates (including teacher certificate issued by the Ministry of Education if any);

4) two recommendation letters from members of the academic community (to be sent directly by referrers via mails or e-mails to this department before application deadline; recommendation letters via mail should include referrer’s institution information and signature; e-mails should include the scanned recommendation letter with referrer’s signature and be sent from the referrer’s professional e-mail account);

5) a detailed list of publications;

6) representative work published in the past five years (published after August 2017; Chinese or English introduction and abstract required if not published in Chinese / English; at least two if representative works are journal papers or book chapters and one for books) (doctoral dissertations used to apply for an assistant professorship not need have been published);

7) reference work published in the past seven years (five at most, published after August 2015);

8) syllabi for three or more courses related to the applicant’s research field.
